Family Planning
Natural family planning is a method of birth control that does not entail the use of pills or other technologies. As a result, there are no negative side effects.
These methods allow you to keep track of your fertility and determine when you are most likely to become pregnant.
Natural family planning can be used to prevent pregnancy in a variety of ways:
Rhythm method
This is one of the earliest natural family planning methods, and it is based solely on the calendar. The average menstrual cycle lasts 28 to 32 days. Ovulation normally occurs on day 14 of the cycle. Because you're most fertile on days 8 through 19, you should avoid unprotected sex on those days. Inquire with your doctor about the best way to employ the rhythm approach.
Ovulation method
You keep track of how much mucus your cervix produces. Your mucus is transparent, flexible, and wet when you're ovulating, resembling raw egg whites. You keep track of how your mucus looks each day to figure out when you're ovulating.
Basal body temperature method
When you ovulate, your temperature can climb by 0.5 to 1 degree and stay there until your next period. This method requires you to take your temperature before getting out of bed in the morning and before eating or drinking anything.
Symptothermal method
You use a combination of techniques, most commonly BBT and cervical mucus. Using multiple methods can help you gain a better understanding of what's going on in your body.
